Rebeka – 2. chapter

Rebeka got to work immediately. She scheduled back-to-back meetings with every department for the entire week. Erik’s was on Tuesday.

It took less than half an hour for him to admit to himself that Rebeka irritated him. At first, she might have just been asking questions. She even addressed him formally. But very quickly, her questions took on a disapproving, superior edge. He began to lose the desire to answer at all. As the head of the division, he didn’t really have that option. He was nearly forcing his last answers out through clenched teeth, so when she finally asked everyone for various reports, naturally within twenty-four hours, he was glad it was over. At least tomorrow he’d show her he wasn’t just some random employee.

He was wrong.

On Wednesday, she took his papers and crossed out most of them. His initial surprise turned into anger almost instantly. Pressure built inside him.

“Canceling this project would be a mistake,” he said through his teeth. “It will be a very good move.”

“I understand that’s what you believe,” she replied with absolute calm, confidently meeting his eyes. “But if your decisions were good, your superiors wouldn’t need me.”

He clenched his teeth and hesitated. Then he chose to leave before he exploded and headed for the door.

“Bitch,” he snapped as he passed through it, not bothering to close it.

Rebeka smiled smugly and ended the meeting with a single sentence.

“Tell Erik Demský that I’m expecting him in my office at six. Hopefully he’ll have cooled off by then,” she added with a smirk.

At six o’clock, he opened her door only slightly more calmly than he had the meeting room earlier. Rebeka stood by the window, reading something. She looked up at him and gestured for him to sit. Reluctantly, he obeyed.

“Mister Demský,” she said, placing the papers on the desk, “don’t try to get into a fight with me. It won’t end well for you.”

She stepped closer, folded her arms across her chest, and leaned her backside against the edge of the desk. He glared at her, but his attempt to throw her off, to make her look less confident and less hard, failed. That only irritated him more.

“Rebeka,” he began.

“Miss Langsfeld,” she corrected him with cool superiority.

He took a sharp breath.

“Miss Langsfeld,” he raised his voice. “Let me do my job, and I’ll let you do yours.”

“You’d have to do it well for that,” she replied calmly.

He stood up abruptly and stepped right up to her, glaring down at her in open threat. She didn’t flinch. She didn’t step back. She only lifted her nose slightly so she could return his stare.

“You’re asking for it,” he growled under his breath.

“Don’t do this, Mister Demský,” she warned, clipping each syllable. “If I decide this counts as a threat, you won’t be spending your evenings in bars for the next few weeks, but in a self-control course.”

His pupils dilated. After a moment, he exhaled deeply. Slowly, he leaned in and whispered into her ear.

“Push me properly, you little bitch. And I promise you, what I did to you on Friday will start to feel like the height of romance. I’ll grab you and fuck you until you become a sweet, affectionate little girl.”

Heat rushed to her face and down into her panties. She froze, holding her breath. He smirked.

“So think carefully about what you do next,” he added, straightening up. He left, closing the door this time.

Her knees buckled, and she slid into the chair. She took several deep breaths, trying to calm her overheated body.

Damn it, things like that aren’t meant to be talked about, they’re meant to be done, she thought in disappointment, imagining him gripping her hands.

She exhaled deeply and decided it would be better to go home.

The hot shower loosened both her body and her thoughts.

Will he do it? How do I get what I want without letting it affect my work?

She imagined him grabbing her by the hair again, roughly.

She reached into the cabinet for her vibrator. With her back against the wall, the toy slid easily inside her body. And every thought belonged to Erik. How he pressed her against the wall. Held her by the hair. Swore. Entered her roughly. Pinned her resisting hands without mercy while he bit the sensitive skin of her neck. And kept thrusting hard. Even harder.

Satisfied, she turned off the shower and stepped out onto the balcony wrapped only in a towel. She lit a cigarette.

Making him do it won’t be hard. But professionally, I need to tame him first, not give him courage, she thought, exhaling smoke.

And suddenly, a sly, satisfied smile spread across her face. She almost forgot that because of the way she gets under people’s skin, she has security cameras installed in every office. Always before she arrives.

“All right, hotshot,” she said out loud, taking a drag. “Let’s play your game.” A long, slow exhale. “But I make the first move.”
